Criteria for Elementary Admissions

  • Parents and students must agree to the Statement of Faith and the policies set by the school board. The Statement of Faith can be found on this website under the 'About CVCS' tab.

  • Parents must submit a completed application and application fee.  Fees are set by the School Board.

  • Parents must submit student's health records showing compliance with State health requirements.

  • All new K-6th grade students must take an entrance exam. The purpose of the testing is to help determine the level of work the prospective student is doing. The program at CVCS is advanced and students who test below grade level may be required to do remedial work or repeat current grade level at CVCS.

  • The total academic record of new students will be reviewed for completeness and compliance with State requirements prior to admission of the student. Home-school applicants will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

  • Parents must participate in a personal interview conducted by a school administrator.  The interview will be scheduled once all required documents are received and all testing is complete.  Students applying for admission to 6th grade will also be interviewed.

  • Students entering at grade 5 or above must sign the Student Commitment Form.

  • To enter Kindergarten a child must be five years of age by September 1.

  • To enter first grade a child must be six years of age by September 1.
