Celebrating a Heart for Literacy, Growth, and Christ-Centered Learning

Cole Valley Christian Schools is grateful to recognize Sara Haserot, who has been serving as a 2nd Grade ELA teacher at CVCS for the past five years.

Originally from Castro Valley, California, Sara now lives in Kuna with her family. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Development from UC Davis and a Master’s in Elementary Education from the University of Phoenix. Her favorite Bible verse, Deuteronomy 31:8, reminds her daily that the Lord goes before us, remains with us, and never leaves us — a truth she faithfully shares with her students.

Sara loves teaching second grade, especially helping students develop foundational reading and writing skills. Beyond academics, she emphasizes a Growth Mindset in her classroom, teaching students that mistakes are part of learning and that perseverance strengthens both the mind and the spirit. Most importantly, she is passionate about helping students understand how much God loves them.

Sara has been married to her husband, Brian, for 25 years. They have two sons — Jack, a CVCS Class of 2024 graduate now attending CWI, and Noah, a freshman at CVCS. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors, exploring Idaho, attending Rock Harbor Church, and watching sports together.

A fun and memorable fact about Sara: when she was just a few weeks old, she appeared on the Jumbotron during the World Series when the Los Angeles Dodgers faced the Oakland A’s. While her family cheered for the A’s that year, she is now proudly a Dodgers fan.

We are thankful for Sara’s dedication, joyful spirit, and Christ-centered leadership in the classroom each day.
