🏆 Chargers Capture Back-to-Back 4A Idaho State Softball Championships

Champions again.

The Cole Valley Christian Chargers softball captured the 2026 4A Idaho State Championship in emphatic fashion, defeating Kimberly 19–4 at Filer High School to secure the program’s second consecutive state title and third overall championship.

And from the very beginning, the Chargers left no doubt.

Cole Valley exploded offensively with seven runs in the first inning, added six more in the third, and six again in the fourth on the way to a dominant championship performance. By the final out, the Chargers had totaled 17 hits, seven stolen bases, and zero defensive errors—a complete performance on the biggest stage.

Once again, junior standout Lauren Cols delivered a historic performance. The shortstop went 4-for-4 with a single, double, and home run while driving in six runs. Already the Idaho single-season home run record holder, Cols continued the remarkable season that has helped power the Chargers’ championship run.

But this victory was the definition of a total team effort.

  • Caitlyn Trueblood launched a three-run home run in the third inning
  • Brinkley Lauderdale added a two-run homer in the fourth
  • Abbie English collected multiple hits, including a triple, while creating pressure on the bases
  • Gianna Maniaci helped set the tone early with a leadoff double and multiple hits
  • Addy Herrera contributed at the plate and earned the win in the circle, holding Kimberly to four runs across five innings

The Chargers defeated Kimberly three separate times this season, including both the semifinal and championship rounds of the state tournament.

This championship run reflects more than talent—it reflects the culture, work ethic, and unity that define Cole Valley Christian Schools athletics. From leadership and preparation to resilience and teamwork, this group has continued to raise the standard for Charger softball.

Three state championships. Two classifications. One program continuing to build something special.
