Band
Developing Talent, Teamwork, and Worship Through Music.
At Cole Valley Christian Schools, our band program is about more than just music—it’s about glorifying God through every note we play. Rooted in our key verse, “...whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31), we strive to develop both the musical skill and spiritual character of each student. Whether in rehearsal, practicing at home, or performing on stage, our goal is to honor Christ with excellence and joy.
Our band classes provide students with opportunities to grow as individual musicians and as part of an ensemble. Instruction is available on all traditional band instruments—flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, baritone, tuba, percussion—as well as string instruments including violin, viola, cello, and bass. Regardless of experience level, every student is encouraged and supported as they develop their God-given gifts.
Program Offerings:
-
Beginning Band (6th Grade): Students build foundational skills and perform at both the Christmas Concert and Spring Concert.
-
Middle School Band (7th & 8th Grade): Performances at the Christmas and Spring Concerts. Members are also invited to join the High School Pep Band at football and basketball games for an exciting, optional experience.
-
High School Band: This group performs at the Christmas and Spring Concerts alongside the younger bands and forms the core of our Pep Band, playing at football games, varsity basketball games, and district and state playoffs. The High School Band also represents CVCS at District III and IMEA music festivals, as well as other events selected by the director.
Through performances, festivals, and the camaraderie of ensemble work, our students gain discipline, confidence, teamwork, and a lifelong love of music—all while learning to use their talents for God’s glory.
