2018 CVC Summer Strength and Conditioning Sign Up


Coach Emry is looking to get information from every athlete who is signing up for the summer lifting program. Parents, please be available as athlete completes questionnaire. Each athlete will need to fill out their own questionnaire. The program fee is $200. Please write the checks out to CVCS Weightlifting and turn them into Coach Emry or The CVCS Busines Office by June 28th. If athlete continues to lift throughout the summer with no payment, the fee will be put onto your Smart Tuition. Understand that this fee not only pays for the summer weight lifting program but also for new weight equipment AND the after school lifting program the rest of the school year. Please have this questionnaire completed by May 28th.


This is a 9 week weightlifting program with dates being Monday - Thursday, starting June 4th - August 2nd. Lifting schedule July 2nd – July 5th is TBD. Grades 7 – 12 are allowed to participate with the understanding that the athlete must possess a certain maturity level in the weight room. This is a long and grinding process but it is the most important, for it is our only true off season to really focus on the weight room. Junior High athletes: Make sure that you are ready physically and mentally to participate. Parents, please be checking in with your athletes as I make announcements throughout the summer as things come up or change. The majority of my communication will be going through them as it is their responsibility to communicate to parents and understand the schedule. Guys will be lifting 4 days per week, while the ladies will be lifting 3 days per week.


Each athlete is going to have tentative assigned lifting times and I need to know which time slot is going to work best. Guys who will be doing Coach Koch’s summer handling camp Monday & Wednesday 8 – 9:30 am, may either lift at 7 am (Group 1) or right after at 9:30 am (Group 3). If you lift at 7 am, I have permission from Coach Koch that it is ok if you are late by a few minutes. Understand that this is ONLY for Monday & Wednesday, ONLY for the month of June. Group 3 will have a normal start at 9:15 am Tuesday & Thursday through June, and normal 9:15 am start Monday – Thursday in the month of July. Each group will lift for approximately 75 – 90 minutes.

  • Group 1 – start 7 - 8:15-8:30
  • Group 2 – start 8:15 - 9:15-9:30
  • Group 3 – start 9:15 or 9:30 - 10:15-10:30
  • Group 4 – start 10:15 - 11:15-11:30
  • Group 5 – start 11:15 - 12:15-12:30
  • Group 6 – start 5 - 6:15-6:30

ALL athletes are required to come to my strength and conditioning meeting MAY 31st in the AUDITORIUM at 6 pm (even if you lifted last summer, new rules and procedures will be put in place).


Parents, please come as I would love to meet and answer any questions you may have. Parents who have athletes that are new or that are in JH are highly encouraged to attend. I will be going over details about the program, rules, procedures, time slots, team participation competition, and answering any questions. The more we know going into week 1, the more efficient and effective our first few weeks of lifting will be. Less talking, more work!!
