As a ministry of Cole Community Church, Cole Valley Christian Schools (CVCS) is a non-profit, non-denominational, school comprised of students representing more than 100 churches throughout the Treasure Valley.
Our Christ-centered educational program includes:
- Elementary (Kindergarten - 6th Grades)
- Secondary (7th - 12th Grades)
We are accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and AdvancED. The State of Idaho recognizes the AdvancED accreditation, thereby giving CVCS state accreditation. All full-time faculty and administrators are required to be degreed and certified by ACSI.
Established in 1972
Cole Valley Christian first opened its doors in 1972 as Cole Christian School. In 1999, Cole Christian merged with Valley Christian High School to become Cole Valley Christian Schools. An Early Childhood Program was added in 2009. Currently, more than 900 students are enrolled, making Cole Valley Christian the largest K-12 Christian school in the State of Idaho.
The Elementary Campus is located at Cole Community Church, near the intersection of Maple Grove and Ustick Road, and houses our Pre-Kindergarten program through sixth grades. Approximately seven miles away, our Secondary Campus is located on Carlton Avenue in downtown Meridian and houses grades 7 through 12. A shuttle bus transports students between campuses. The Idaho Learning Center is our third campus serving students in need of a more individualized learning environment.
The student body is primarily drawn from Boise (50%), Meridian (34%), Eagle (10%), and Nampa (3%), with the remaining 3% coming from other communities throughout the Treasure Valley. Students are evaluated on the basis of their transcripts, test scores, recommendations, and a personal interview. CVCS does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, national origin, or ethnicity.
We define academic excellence as challenging each student to reach their fullest potential in preparing them for college or to wherever God calls them. Our students participate in the nationally normed NWEA MAP test as well as the ACT and SAT and consistently score above the national, state, and local averages of other public schools in the Treasure Valley. CVCS consistently has National Merit scholars and finalists among its student body. Students participate each year in a variety of academic competitions such as the Idaho National Laboratory Scholastic Tournament, Idaho History Bee, and Math Counts. Student Academic Services staff on both campuses partner with parents in assisting students with both special learning needs and giftedness.
Historically, Cole Valley Christian sends 87-94% of its graduates to college, well above the published national public school statistic. Also, graduates have applied for and been awarded an increasing number of scholarships each year. Graduates continue their education at a variety of two- and four-year colleges worldwide, military academies, and through military service.
CVCS participates in the Idaho High School Activities Association 2A conference and competes in the 2A Western Idaho Conference (WIC). Elementary students participate with other area public schools in girls' and boys' basketball and track. Junior and senior high students participate in boys football, girls volleyball, boys and girls basketball, girls cheerleading, as well as co-ed cross country, track, and ski teams. We strive for excellence in being a witness to the community through our athletics. We also offer opportunities to participate in our award-winning choirs, band, worship teams, or student government.
