CVCS Competition Robotics Team

Students who participate in Robotics have great opportunities to earn scholarships at the college level.  Last year the team competed against 35 other robots at a regional level.  The students learn engineering principles, computer coding, teamwork, building skills, problem solving, and many other skills throughout the year.

Part of the First Tech Challenge (FTC) is involving the community to support the Robotics program.  Finding like-minded businesses to partner with the CVCS Robotics Comeptition team is a critical part to fulfilling the FTC.  All donations towards the Robotics team qualify for the Idaho Educational Tax Credit that generates up to a 50% tax credit on the Idaho State Taxes.

The rules and objectives for this year's competition will be released in September.  The competition is in February location TBD.

In their first year the team attended one scrimmage in Ontario, Oregon and then the official competition in Moscow. With more funding we could try to fit in at least one more scrimmage to prepare for what the team is looking at in terms of competition. As a team it costs $150 to register for the competition, $100 for gas, $400 for hotel.  This year they have girls joining the team requiring multiple hotel rooms.
