CVCS Snapshot

As a ministry of Cole Community Church, Cole Valley Christian Schools (CVCS) is a non-profit, non-denominational school comprised of students representing more than 100 churches throughout the Treasure Valley.

Our Christ-centered educational program includes:

  • Early Childhood  (Preschool - Pre-K)
  • Elementary  (Kindergarten - 6th Grades)
  • Jr High  (7th - 8th Grades)
  • High School  (9th - 12th Grades)

Cole Valley Christian first opened its doors in 1972 as Cole Christian School. In 1999, Cole Christian merged with Valley Christian High School to become Cole Valley Christian Schools.  An Early Childhood Program was added in 2009. Currently, almost 950 students are enrolled, making Cole Valley Christian the largest K-12 Christian school in the State of Idaho.

FAST FACTS

Cole Valley Christian Schools is accredited through:

  • Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI)
    • All full-time faculty and administrators are required to be degreed and certified by ACSI.
  • AdvancED
    • The State of Idaho recognizes the AdvancED accreditation, thereby giving CVCS state accreditation.

Cole Valley Christian Schools is an independent, inter-denominational, biblically-based Christian school (Preschool through 12th grade) with campuses located in Boise and Meridian, Idaho - approximately six miles apart.

  • The Elementary Campus is located at Cole Community Church, near the intersection of Maple Grove and Ustick Road - Early Childhood program through 6th grades.
  • The Secondary Campus is located on Carlton Avenue in downtown Meridian - grades 7 through 12.
  • A shuttle bus transports students between campuses.

The student body is primarily drawn from Boise (37%), Meridian (37%), Eagle (10%), and Nampa (6%), with the remaining 10% coming from other communities throughout the Treasure Valley.  Additionally, we have international students representing four countries: China, Korea, Mexico, and Taiwan.

Students are evaluated on the basis of their transcripts, test scores, recommendations, and a personal interview.  Cole Valley Christian Schools does not discriminate based on race or ethnic origin in the admission of students and hiring of faculty and staff.

Cole Valley Christian Schools is a believer school (meaning that at least one parent/guardian is a professing Christian).

We define academic excellence as challenging each student to reach their fullest potential in preparing them for college or to wherever God calls them.

  • Our students participate in the nationally normed STAR testing as well as the ACT and SAT and consistently score above the national, state, and local averages of public schools in the Treasure Valley.
  • CVCS consistently has National Merit scholars and finalists among its student body.
  • Students participate each year in a variety of academic competitions such as the Idaho National Laboratory Scholastic Tournament, Idaho History Bee, Speech Meet and Math Counts.
  • Student Academic Services staff on both campuses partner with parents in assisting students with special learning needs.
  • In 2019/2020, CVCS launched a new program for gifted students, 5th-8th grades, called AIG - Academic & Intellectually Gifted.
  • CVCS Graduates:
    • Historically, Cole Valley Christian sends 87-94% of its graduates to college, well above the published national public school statistic.  Graduates continue their education at a variety of two- and four-year colleges worldwide, technical schools, and military academies.
      • Graduates have applied for and been awarded an increasing number of scholarships each year.
    • Graduates also continue on to serve Jesus Christ through military service and in the mission field.
